DuckDuckGo does not monitor the details of its user. No user IP address or login details is saved in the application. Because DuckDuckGo does not record user data, the data cannot be sent to third parties. But the question is, “How Does DuckDuckGo Make Money?”
How Does DuckDuckGo Make Money?
DuckDuckGo generates revenue in two ways:-
It is a misconception that search engines must monitor you to make money from Web searches. When you enter a search term, it will display an ad focused solely on that search term. (i.e Ads will be displayed according to the user’s Search Query)
When you enter a search term, it will display an ad focused completely on that search term. For example, if you type in “car,” the search engine would display the advertisements related to the Car. This does not involve tracking since it is based on a keyword rather than an individual.
DDG does not save the IP address or cookie details of its users. DDG would have no idea who you are. Simply put, DDG calculates the new user is searching for the first time every time you browse.
DuckDuckGo displays relevant ads on its search results page by using Microsft Advertising. Any ad created on Microsoft is distributed through all platforms, including DuckDuckGo.
Sign up for Bing ads, create a campaign, and allow “All search networks” under Ad delivery if you want to advertise on duckduckgo search.

(2) Affiliate Revenue:
DuckDuckGo participates in the affiliate programs of the eCommerce sites Amazon and eBay. It earn a small commission when you visit those websites through DuckDuckGo, including when using !bangs, and then make a purchase.
The revenue share is given by Amazon and eBay and the user does not pay any additional charge on being a referral.
