According to the IANS report, except for one Indian social media firm, Koo, none of the top social media intermediaries have assigned a resident grievance officer, chief compliance officer, and nodal contact individual, as required by the guidelines.

According to sources, the government is not pleased with social media platforms’ failure to follow the laws.

Facebook says that it ‘aims to comply‘ and will continue to discuss the issues with the government on the new IT rules.
